Transfer Sites

Transfer sites to another partner account from your WebinOne Portal, with built-in payment, scheduling, and status tracking for every request.

The Transfer Sites section of the WebinOne Portal allows portal owners to transfer one or more sites to another partner account. The entire flow is handled within the portal - from creating a request and managing payment, through to scheduled execution and a full history of completed transfers.

You can find 'Transfer Sites' in the main left-hand navigation of your WebinOne Portal. The section is divided into three tabs: Outgoing (requests you have created), Incoming (requests sent to you by other partners), and History (completed and expired transfers). A badge on the menu item highlights any active requests that require your attention.

Transfers are only available to portal owners and are only allowed within the same data center region of the site.

Outgoing

The 'Outgoing' tab lists all transfer requests you have created. From here you can start a new request, resume a draft, and monitor the progress of active transfers.

Creating a Transfer Request

Click "NEW TRANSFER REQUEST" to open the transfer wizard. The wizard walks you through six steps: Select Sites, Receiver, Fee Payer, Subscription, Transfer Time, and Review. You can navigate back to any previous step using the "BACK" button, and any unfinished request is automatically saved as a Draft so you can return to it at any time.

Once a transfer request has been paid, it can no longer be edited.

Step 1 - Select Sites

Click "ADD SITES TO TRANSFER" to open the site selection panel. You can search by site name or use the Type filter to narrow the list to live or trial sites. The Quick Select button provides shortcuts to add all live sites, all trial sites, or all sites in your account at once. Click the icon next to any site to add it to the request, or the icon to remove a site already selected. Click "SAVE" to confirm your selection and return to the wizard.

A single transfer request can include one or more sites. A site that is already part of another active transfer request will be unavailable for selection.

Step 2 - Receiver

Enter the partner account details for the account that will receive the transferred sites. The receiver will be notified by email and must confirm the request before the transfer can proceed.

Step 3 - Fee Payer

Each site transfer is charged at a fixed rate of $100 per site, processed via Stripe Checkout. Select whether the sender or the receiver will be responsible for the payment.

Step 4 - Subscription

Choose how the existing site plan subscriptions for the transferred sites should be handled at the point of transfer.

Option
Description
Keep

The existing site plan subscriptions are transferred to the receiving account. Billing for those subscriptions will move to the receiver.

Cancel

The existing site plan subscriptions are cancelled at the time of transfer. The receiving partner will need to set up new subscriptions for the transferred sites.

Step 5 - Transfer Time

Select when the transfer should be executed after payment is complete.

Option
Description
Immediately

Sites are transferred as soon as payment is confirmed.

Off-hours

Sites are transferred during the 00:00 - 06:00 window in the data center's local time. This option is recommended to minimise any potential disruption to live sites.

Step 6 - Review

The final step presents a summary of the transfer request before submission. Review all details - including the list of sites, receiver, fee payer, subscription handling, and transfer time - and finalise by sending the request to the receiver.

Transfer Execution & Progress

Once payment is confirmed, sites are transferred sequentially. You can monitor both the overall request progress and the per-site status from the request detail page. Each site moves through its own status stages, and the detail page updates in real time as the transfer proceeds.

Email notifications are sent to both the sender and receiver at all key events, including when a request is created, accepted, updated, declined, or completed.

A request that has not been confirmed by the receiver will expire automatically after 7 days.

Incoming

The 'Incoming' tab lists all transfer requests that have been sent to your account by another partner. When a new incoming request is waiting for your response, a badge will appear on the 'Transfer Sites' menu item.

Reviewing an Incoming Request

Opening an incoming request shows you the full details of what is being proposed - including the sites to be transferred, the fee payer, subscription handling, and the requested transfer time. From here you have three options:

  • Accept - agree to the request as submitted. If you are the designated fee payer, you will be directed to Stripe Checkout to complete payment before the transfer is scheduled.
  • Decline - reject the request. The sender will be notified by email.
  • Modify - propose modifications to the request. The Change Request flow allows you to adjust certain parameters before returning the request to the sender for their review.

A request that is not actioned will expire automatically after 7 days from the original submission date.

History

The 'History' tab provides a record of all completed, declined, and expired transfer requests associated with your account - both those you sent and those you received. Each entry links through to the full request detail page, including the status log for that request.

Every request maintains a chronological log of all status transitions, visible from the request detail page. This log is immutable and cannot be modified or deleted.
